Life cycle assessment (LCA) is a technique to assess the environmental impacts associated with a product or service including all the stages of a product’s life from the raw material extraction, materials processing, product manufacture, distribution (transport), use of the product, maintenance and finally end of life stages of disposal or recycling/re-use.
